welcome to camp
Horizons Explorers
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure at Bethel Horizons, where the beauty of nature meets the joys of new friendships! Available all 7 weeks of summer, Horizons Explorers is the perfect introduction to sleep-away camp.
Unleash your creativity by collaborating with talented artists, discover the wonders of the wild with our knowledgeable naturalist, and let the rhythm of the camp come alive as you jam with our musicians. Dive into the refreshing waters of Governor Dodge State Park, join in the laughter with silly skits, and belt out your favorite campfire songs! Explorers are based in the Barn Retreat Center, a cozy lodge with bunk beds, bedtime stories, night lights, a game room and a team of caring counselors to make camp feel like home.
Each week has a different theme, providing new adventures and experiences throughout the whole summer!
Clay Week (June 15-20): Hike to Adamah Art Studio for daily pottery lessons! At the end of the week, you will take home your collection of hand-made pottery.
Adventure Week (June 22-27): Experience the thrills of beginner rock climbing, fishing, cave exploration and our low ropes challenge course.
Farm Week (July 6-11): Visit local farms, learn about agriculture, care for livestock and plant your very own mini garden.
Olympic Week (July 13-18): Learn new sports and skills from our camp athletes , including swimming, soccer, gymnastics, volleyball and more!
Christmas in July (July 20-25): Create holiday crafts, sing Christmas carols, have a summer “snowball” fight, make festive treats and embrace the season of giving through a local service project.
Water Week (July 27-August 1): Swim at Twin Valley Lake, visit a stunning waterfall, zoom down the slip ‘n slide, compete in Water Olympics, and explore our very own Question Mark Pond.
Music Week (August 10-15): Experiment with new instruments, write your own lyrics, meet local musicians, show off your karaoke skills, and help lead songs at campfire.
